HUGIN Training Course Discussion / Very bad Fit
« on: March 16, 2012, 23:23:54  »
I have now taken many panoramas but find that whatever I do, when I try to assemble with HUGIN a full 360 degree panorama HUGIN all the time gives me as a result "very bad fit" and that supposedly some points are wrongly assembled and manual intervention is required, and that there must be parallax error. This I get even if I take pictures indoors in a large hall, where absolutely nothing is moving and as a consequence there cannot be any parallax errors. Also checking the points I do NOT find any wrong points, and still there is always "very bad fit". On the other hand, if I try to assemble only a partial panorama using a selection of the same set of data, say, only those that are shot horizontally, HUGIN works successfully. Also, when I use autostitch, it works, but autostitch never works for a 360 degree panorama. Why do I always get “very bad fit” even if the preview looks perfect.

My other problem I have is, I still have not discovered a way on how to get rid of pictures with moving clouds. The problem here in Artvin is, that there are always strong winds and as a consequence clouds always move which HUGIN obviously does not like.

Someone has some idea what is going wrong there?

Hi Anders, and many thanks for your reply and link you sent to me. I did ope that link and do not understand what that has to do with my problem of HUGIN crashing after the Preview. I am sorry if I seem to be stupid, but I am new and there are numerous matters I still do not understand. Kind regards Sebastian

General Discussion / Large Panorama cannot be uploaded
« on: August 20, 2011, 22:56:01  »
When I produce a panorama it generally has a volume of about 250 MB, which admittedly is quite large. However, as I understand, it is precisely the purpose of this project to have precise large images. When I tried to upload them my uploading program after a certain time seems to stop and there is nothing I can do. I eventually gave up and compressed to panorama to about 40 MB and this version I was finally able to upload. The way I understand matters however this is NOT the purpose of 360 cities. What am I doing wrong? Kind regards Sebastian

I already earlier read somewhere that this is a "known problem" with HUGIN and one way to bypass this problem is to switch preview off. However, I cannot find anywhere a button which would allow me to do this. Ideally of course would be to get the problem fixed and not switch off he preview.

Any help would be highly appreciated
