HUGIN GUI Discussion / need help with settings for stitching multiple photos of same star field

Hi,
I am trying to stitch multiple shots of stars, with some foreground. I mask the foreground of all except 1 image. Hugin finds and matches many of the stars correctly.
Then things go crazy.
The field of view calculated is for portrait - the original is landscape. and the numbers are wrong -even though it has the correct exif information.
I just want a rectangular stitched image as output but it shows some horribly warped image in preview.
